The
Stokke
Xplory is a unique pushchair which provides unmatched
flexibility enabling you to elevate your child so he or she can be
closer to you. Keeping a good visual contact between you and your
child, especially in the early months helps to re-assure the child,
strengthening the bond between you and encouraging eye contact
As well as being the only pushchair available which allows you to
elevate your child in this manner, the Stokke Xplory also
offers the complete 3 in 1 travel system when combined with a carrycot
and car seat (both sold separately)
The seat unit itself is suitable from birth up to a maximum weight of
45lbs or 3 years of age and features 5 ergonomic seating positions
allowing the seat to be altered to whichever position best suits your
child’s mood.
If you decide to purchase the carrycot it is suitable from birth to 6
months and features a soft inside lining and a curved base for extra
ventilation. There are 4 pockets available to store items such as
bottles, keys etc.
The chassis itself is design around a central robust bar, making it not
only sturdy and secure, but also easy to fold away
Overtime, as you child starts to grow the seat can be switched to face
forwards. By adjusting the footrest downwards as your childs legs get
longer and altering the seat depth with the padded insert will ensure
that your child is always sitting comfortably.
The Stokke
Xplory is available in 6 different colours and comes with
a wide range of optional accessories.
What's good about the Stokke
Xplory
• Its easy to set up and steer
• The child positioning and
different height options are great
• The support child for the
child is good
• The fully adjustable handlebar
will be very useful for couples of differing height
• It’s futuristic look
will certainly get you noticed, if that’s a good thing
• The shopping bag is easily
accessed and holds a reasonable amount of goods, up to 2kg in weight
And what could be better
• The price – its
expensive at anything upwards of £600
• The weight, at 10.5kg
including the seat its heavy than other pushchairs
• A bit bulky when folded down
• It will certainly get you
noticed, if that’s a bad thing
• Not the smoothest of rides on
more rugged terrain
Overall
Impression
This is definitely a unique and futuristic looking Stokke Stroller. The
height position is the main attraction and the opportunity to have such
close eye contact with your baby is a major plus for most parents. The
Stokke Xplory will also grow with your child as the seat is adjusted
and should suffice well into their toddler years. They are more of a
city pushchair rather than an off roader and are rather expensive,
however, if you do ensure you look after it there is a good second hand
market for these which should see you get a reasonable amount of your
money back.
